How long have you been making beats?
      I’ve been playing music for over 20 years, including guitar, piano, trombone and baritone, and have been making hip hop beats since around 2001.

What equipment do you use?
      Most beats are composed and arranged on Fruity Loops XXL versions 7 & 9, Cubase SX3, and\or Magix 6. Writing and recording is done using a Yamaha DGX-200, Logitech wireless tools, Behringer T1953 Tube amp, and an Audio Technica AT2020 microphone.
      Guitars and equipment : Ibanez Satriani BP1000, Ibanez AX7, Yamaha BB300 (bass), various off brand guitars, Digitech RP2000, Zoom 506, various Boss and DOD FX, Crate GX130, Celestion speakers

      Dayton, Ohio.

How do I download the beats?
      First, find the beat within its category (East, West, South, Keys or Hooks). With each beat description, there is a button marked 'Download Free'. To save to your computer, right click on it then choose 'Save Target As...' (or 'Save Link As...')

What can I use the free beats for?
      Anything reasonable as long as its non-profit and promotional only. The most common uses are demos, free mixtapes, websites (Soundclick, Myspace, YouTube etc), or sharing with friends. Please support VTZbeats.com and help keep independent music free when using the beats.

Why are there prices?
      In order to sell the songs you make with the beats, you need a commercial license. Selling your song, even as a ringtone, without a commercial license is considered copyright infringement.

Can I get a beat that's already sold?
      Once a beat is sold, it is no longer available to download or license. Existing licenses are valid until they expire regardless of instrumental availability. If you already have a song recorded, you may continue using it under the terms of its free use.

How do I know which license to buy?
      The most common type is the standard Lease, which allows up to 4000 units to be sold and includes the untagged instrumental. The Lease is ideal for artists working on their first album\mixtape and need studio quality.
      If you feel you're on a higher level, you can purchase the separated studio files ("tracking out") and have your engineer mix the beat down to fit your vocals more appropriately.
      Full Exclusive Rights include the untagged instrumental, tracking out, and the rights to sell your song without any limits. The prices are higher since purchasing FER will mark the beat as sold, preventing any future downloads or licenses to be issued.

How do I make a purchase?
      Each song description has 3 buttons for making payments. Click on the type you wish to buy (Lease, Tracking Out etc). You will be taken to Paypal.com to see your cart. You can either return to VTZbeats.com and add more beats, or proceed to checkout.
      Click on View Cart (located on the left side menu) to go back to the checkout page. You will then be given the option to use a credit\debit card or log in to Paypal.
      To purchase a beat with Full Exclusive Rights, visit the contact page to request an invoice.
      You can also make purchases from the Prices page if you can’t find the beat on this site, or would like to receive a bulk discount.

When will I receive my order?
      Any beat available on this site is already tracked out and uploaded, and will be sent to your email within 24 hours. Delivery includes download links for the audio files, and your personalized contract showing your rights to use the beat.

How do I purchase a beat you have on Soundclick.com, but not on here?
      You can use the Paypal menu on the Prices page. Transferring all the beats to this new site is a tedious process, but delivery time is the same on any purchase.

How long does it take to activate a new membership?
      Anywhere from 15 minutes to 12 hours once payment is received. Once it is activated, you will be emailed with your username, password, and instructions to access the VIP Members area.

How do I renew my membership?
      You will automatically be billed by Paypal.com a month from your sign up date, and charges will continue monthly until you choose to cancel.

What can I do if I don’t receive my order?
      If you haven’t received anything within 24 hours of making a payment, please call or visit the contact page and someone will get back to you as soon as possible regarding your order. Additionally, Paypal is based around buyer protection, and will hold the funds if you wish to open a dispute. This is rarely necessary, but the option is available for added security and reassurance that you are buying from a professional.

Do you hold beats\accept down payments?
      Beats cannot be held. However, purchased leases can be applied towards the Full Exclusive price. For example, if you purchase a Lease w/ Tracking Out to a beat, the price to purchase Full Exclusive Rights will be reduced by $34.99.

What if I don't have a credit card?
      Western Union is available on request for cash transfers. Send an email for details on sending payments. Money orders, personal checks, or any other mailed payments are not accepted.

How can I get featured on your page?
      Anyone who purchases Full Exclusive Rights to a beat and really makes a hit with the song I will consider for featured placement on the site. The song must be in studio quality.
